Be the Difference: Celebrate CPR & AED Awareness Week at the Aurora Regional Fire Museum!

June 1–7 marks National CPR and AED Awareness Week, a time dedicated to spotlighting how lives can be saved when more people know how to perform CPR and use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Since approximately 70 percent of out-of-hospital cardiac arrests happen at home, learning these skills means you are most likely preparing to save the life of a parent, spouse, or child.
In honor of this week, DobroSKILLS CPR is partnering with the Aurora Regional Fire Museum (53 North Broadway, Aurora, IL) to offer a series of training opportunities, ranging from free community demonstrations to full certification classes.
Wednesday, June 3: Free Museum Day
Kick off the month with Free Museum Day! From 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, the Aurora Regional Fire Museum offers free admission and family-friendly activities.
DobroSKILLS Activity: Stop by our table for hands-only CPR and basic first aid demonstrations.
Raffle Opportunity: Visit various stations, including ours, to get a stamp for a chance to win raffle prizes.
Other Guests: Learn about natural gas safety with DeNova Detect or watch fire extinguisher demos by museum staff.
Friday, June 5: Late-Night "First Friday" Training
As part of Aurora Downtown District’s First Fridays—a downtown-wide open house featuring art, music, and community offerings—we are hosting FREE Hands-Only CPR classes. These 45-minute instructor-led sessions are a perfect "natural introduction" to life-saving techniques.
Times: 5:00 PM, 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM.
Cost: $0.00.
Note: This is a non-certification awareness session, ideal for those who want to learn the basics while enjoying the downtown festivities.
Saturday, June 6: Get Fully Certified
If you need a formal 2-year certification for work (such as for daycare, teaching, or coaching) or simply want more in-depth training, join us for our Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED classes. These use a Blended Learning format, allowing you to complete the lecture portion online before attending a 2.5-hour in-person skills session.
Available Times: 9:00 AM and 1:30 PM
Regular Cost: $98.00
Special Discount for CPR Week: $20 off with code CPRWEEK26
Certification: Participants earn a 2-year American Red Cross certificate upon successful completion.
Plan Your Visit
All classes are held in the professional second-floor meeting space of the historic original Central Fire Station in Downtown Aurora.
Parking: Free public parking is conveniently located on the east side of the building.
Register: Space is limited for all sessions. To secure your spot, visit the DobroSKILLS booking calendar.
