Frequently Asked Questions
What is A Blended Learning (BL) Class?
A Blended Learning (BL) Class gives students the ability to do most of the training online then attend an in-person session to test their skills. The online portion can range from 30 minutes to 3 hours long depending on technology limitations and familiarity with the skills. The in-person session is typically 2 hours and 30 minutes long.
How do I provide proof of completion if the FA/CPR/AED online course does not produce a “proceed to skill session” certificate?
There are two ways to show proof:
1) Students are welcome to simply print or show an electronic copy of the email they receive stating they have completed the online coursework.
2) If a student can’t provide proof of completion, we can provide the option for them to take the written test.
I'm having issues with the online learning who do I contact?
Technical issues with the online learning must go through the American Red Cross. Please be aware that they have a standard maintenance window of 4-6AM Eastern Time on Saturdays. If you are having difficulty accessing the site during that time period, please wait a few minutes and refresh the page.
If you are having technical issues, contact the Training Support Center:
Call: 800-RED-CROSS (800-733-2767)
Can I use my tablet or mobile device to complete the online training?
You can use any device to complete the online but issues have been reported of the course not saving or resetting on iOS devices such as iPads and iPhones.
What is the difference between American Red Cross CPR and American Heart Association (AHA) CPR?
Both trainings are very similar since they are both based on the 2010 International Consensus on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) Science with Treatment Recommendations (CoSTR). Differences exist because The Red Cross Scientific Advisory Council uses CoSTR to understand the science independent of the AHA.
Can I have an instructor come to my home for a private class to teach my family members and myself?
YES! We we would love to to come to your house and teach a private class to you and your family. Groups of 6 and more get a discount. Please contact us and let us know your specific needs.
Is there an app?
The official American Red Cross First Aid app puts expert advice for everyday emergencies in your hand. Get the app and be prepared for what life brings. With videos, interactive quizzes and simple step-by-step advice it’s never been easier to know first aid.
What is your affiliation?
DobroSKILLS is a Licensed Training Provider (LTP) of the American Red Cross. LTPs deliver a wide range of Red Cross courses including First Aid/CPR/AED. Our classes are NOT affiliated with the American Heart Association (AHA) course.
My company signed up for a private training and I need to register. Where is the link?
All participants signed up for a private class must go through the online booking process to gather information for certificate processing and agreeing to our Terms of Service Policies.
You should have received a custom coupon code from your employer so the cost the class will be $0 when you register.
How long do your certifications last?
Most Red Cross certificates we issue last for two years from the date of your training. All certificates are digital and sent to your email with in one business day of the successfully completed class.
If you lost your certificate you can find it online on the American Red Cross Website.
