April 9 was a great day because it was the first time DobroSKILLS offered Red Cross CPR classes to the public. A total of 19 participants successfully completed and are now certified in either Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED, Adult First Aid/CPR/AED, or Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers at the Residence Inn by Marriott Chicago Oak Brook. Some of the participants wrote 5 star Reviews on our Google Business page.
Who Attended the Classes
Participants signed up for a number of reasons such as a job requirement, expecting a first child, or just to have the CPR skill for an emergency. Coach Mark, from the Leukemia and Lymphoma Team In Training Marathon program, stood out in my Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED class because I trained and coached with Mark for a number of years. Mark is again coaching fundraising participants running the 2022 Bank Of America Chicago Marathon and wanted to make sure he was ready in case some one fell ill or got injured While training or running the actual race. Mark himself has raised thousands of dollars on behalf of LLS which has helped research and victims of blood cancers.
Upcoming Classes
If you need American Red Cross First Aid, CPR and AED training, I have Blended Learning classes in Oak Brook, IL scheduled on April 23, May 14, and May 21 you can sign up through the DobroSkills.net web site.
