Class Description

Taking lifesaving care to the next level with this optional skill boost designed to meet your unique needs or desires. Skill boosts can be taught as stand-alone modules to participants that are already Red Cross certified or they can be added to a First Aid/CPR/AED course.


After completing this lesson, participants will be able to:

  • Define what anaphylaxis is and how it is caused.

  • Understand the use of epinephrine when providing care for a person experiencing anaphylaxis.

  • Demonstrate how to administer an epinephrine auto-injector.

  • Demonstrate how to administer an epinephrine nasal spray (optional).

  • Describe what an asthma attack is and how to recognize the signs and symptoms.

  • Understand the role of quick-relief medication in caring for an asthma attack.

  • Demonstrate how to administer quick-relief medication using an inhaler with a spacer.

Participants must be certified in First Aid and/or CPR or enrolled in an equivalent Red Cross course to take this skill boost.


Participatns who complete the requiments of this course will receive an American Red Cross certifcations in Anaphylaxis and Epinephrine Administration with Asthma and Quick-Relief Medication Administration.

We ask participants to dress in layers, wear appropriate coverage, and have a hair tie or band if you have long hair. Checkout the class checklist for details.

Can I sign up for a Skill Booster later?

You can sign up at a later time but space is limited and is open to past DobroSKILL's students. To sign up you can come back to the the website or look out for your email reminder.
