Frequently Asked Questions

What is A Blended Learning (BL) Class?

A Blended Learning (BL) Class gives students the ability to do most of the training online then attend an in-person session to test their skills. The online portion can range from 30 minutes to 3 hours long depending on technology limitations and familiarity with the skills. The in-person session is typically 2 hours and 30 minutes long.

Are your classes OSHA approved?

Our Basic Life Support and Adult and Pediatric First Aid/AED/CPR classes are OSHA approved.

Is there an app?

The official American Red Cross First Aid app puts expert advice for everyday emergencies in your hand. Get the app and be prepared for what life brings. With videos, interactive quizzes and simple step-by-step advice it’s never been easier to know first aid.

I lost my certificate. How can I find it?

If you lost your certificate you can find it online at the Red Cross website.

Can I have an instructor come to my home for a private class to teach my family members and myself?

YES! We we would love to to come to your house and teach a private class to you and your family. Groups of 6 and more get a discount. Please contact us and let us know your specific needs.

I'm having issues with the online learning who do I contact?

Technical issues with the online learning must go through the American Red Cross. Please be aware that they have a standard maintenance window of 4-6AM Eastern Time on Saturdays. If you are having difficulty accessing the site during that time period, please wait a few minutes and refresh the page.

If you are having technical issues, contact the Training Support Center:
Call: 800-RED-CROSS (800-733-2767)

How do I provide proof of completion if the FA/CPR/AED online course does not produce a “proceed to skill session” certificate?

There are two ways to show proof:

1) Students are welcome to simply print or show an electronic copy of the email they receive stating they have completed the online coursework.

2) If a student can’t provide proof of completion, we can provide the option for them to take the written test.

What is the difference between American Red Cross CPR and American Heart Association (AHA) CPR?

Both trainings are very similar since they are both based on the 2010 International Consensus on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) Science with Treatment Recommendations (CoSTR). Differences exist because The Red Cross Scientific Advisory Council uses CoSTR to understand the science independent of the AHA.

Can I use my tablet or mobile device to complete the online training?

You can use any device to complete the online but issues have been reported of the course not saving or resetting on iOS devices such as iPads and iPhones.

I started my online training but I lost the link to the American Red Cross Learning Center.

After you created your account with the Red Cross with the link that was sent to you via email after you registered, you can login at the American Red Cross Learning Center
