Class Description
This course will train instructor candidates to teach basic-level American Red Cross First Aid CPR and AED courses. In order to participate in this course you must possess a current basic-level American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED (or higher level) certification or equivalent and be at least 16 years of age on the last day of the instructor course. Upon registration it is important that you review and follow the directions on the e-mail attachment sent with your registration confirmation. This is a blended learning course consisting of online content a skills session and classroom segments. Online material must be completed prior to attending the classroom activities. For more information please reference the attachment you will receive via e-mail when you register for this course.
This class is a Blended Learning Class which gives students the ability to do most of the training online then attend an in-person session to test their skills.
Online Portion
The online portion is estimated to take 2 hours long. Participants will receive a training link in an email after they booked a class. Participants must have online portion completed before coming into scheduled in-person session.

In-Person Instructor Led Portion
The in-person session is typically 5 hours and 30 minutes long without breaks. The in-person session will review:
First Aid/CPR/AED Skill Practice and Polish
First Aid/CPR/AED Program Materials Review
Conducting Effective Skill Practice and Assessment Scenarios
Classes are open to the general public.
Certificates
Participants who successfully complete the online and in-person portions will receive an American Red Cross Certification in First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor-BL-r.21. Certificates are valid for two years and will be issued in about one business day after the in-person class. Certificates are delivered via e-mail and can be found on the Red Cross Website.

Instructor Candidates who sign up should be prepared to:
Show proof of a base level of a current base level American Red Cross First/CPR/AED certification.
Demonstrate mastery of the skills to the standard that are outlined in the Pre-Course Work and Preparation for Approved First Aid/CPR/AED IT Candidates
Teach any of the knowledge and skills to the standard of the First Aid/CPR/AED r.21 program and be able to incorporate the use of video, course presentation, instructor materials and student materials during your assignments.
Use materials, equipment, etc. as outlined in the manuals.
Become familiar with the Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Blended Learning materials and online session located on the Red Cross Learning Center

The DobroSKILLS Instructor will travel throughout the Chicagoland area and suburbs to privately teach Red Cross CPR to your group of four or more.

What is A Blended Learning (BL) Class?
A Blended Learning (BL) Class gives students the ability to do most of the training online then attend an in-person session to test their skills. The online portion can range from 30 minutes to 3 hours long depending on technology limitations and familiarity with the skills. The in-person session is typically 2 hours and 30 minutes long.
How long do your certifications last?
Most Red Cross certificates we issue last for two years from the date of your training. All certificates are digital and sent to your email with in one business day of the successfully completed class.
