Course Overview
The Red Cross First aid/CPR/AED r.25 Instructor Training program is a comprehensive course designed to bridge the gap between "knowing" and "teaching." You will learn the Red Cross Method of Instruction, ensuring you can effectively plan, lead, and evaluate students in:
Adult, Child, and Infant CPR
AED (Automated External Defibrillator) use
Basic First Aid protocols
What You Will Learn (Learning Objectives)
Red Cross Methods: Master the "Practice-While-Watching" and "Video-Mediated" teaching styles.
Skill Proficiency: Demonstrate elite-level performance in all First Aid, CPR, and AED skills.
Classroom Management: Learn how to effectively manage skill practices, use testing scenarios, and provide corrective feedback.
Administrative Success: Navigate the Red Cross Learning Center, report courses, and issue digital certificates with ease.
Science-Based Training: Understand the science behind the curriculum and how to maintain Red Cross standards.

Instructor Candidates who sign up should be prepared to:
Show proof of a current basic-level certification in Adult CPR/AED (or higher-level) from the American Red Cross or an equivalent. See Page 2 of Document Instuctions for NEW (First-Time) Instructor Canidates.
Demonstrate mastery of the skills to the standard that are outlined in the Pre-Course Work and Preparation for Approved First Aid/CPR/AED IT Candidates
Teach any of the knowledge and skills to the standard of the First Aid/CPR/AED r.25 program and be able to incorporate the use of video, course presentation, instructor materials and student materials during your assignments.
Use materials, equipment, etc. as outlined in the manuals.
Become familiar with the Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Blended Learning materials and online session located on the Red Cross Learning Center
This class is an American Red Cross Class.
Always check with your employer for certification requirements.
Course Length
The online portion is estimated to take 2 hours long. Participants will receive a training link in an email after they booked a class. Participants must have online portion completed before coming into scheduled in-person session. The in-person session is typically 8 hours long plus a 30 minute lunch break.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I provide proof of completion if the FA/CPR/AED online course does not produce a “proceed to skill session” certificate?
There are two ways to show proof:
1) Students are welcome to simply print or show an electronic copy of the email they receive stating they have completed the online coursework.
2) If a student can’t provide proof of completion, we can provide the option for them to take the written test.
I'm having issues with the online learning who do I contact?
Technical issues with the online learning must go through the American Red Cross. Please be aware that they have a standard maintenance window of 4-6AM Eastern Time on Saturdays. If you are having difficulty accessing the site during that time period, please wait a few minutes and refresh the page.
